PAR 4 | HDP 13
⚪️ 365 | 🟡 322 | 🔵 302 | 🔴 259
_______________________________
A challenging opening hole that requires a straight shot, preferably on the left side of the fairway, to have a clear approach to the green with the second shot. Any drive that veers right will have trees obstructing the shot to the green. The second shot is to a green below you and it is difficult to judge the correct distance. A undulating green adds to the difficulty of the hole, so a par here is very well received.
PAR 5 | HDP 15
⚪️ 473 | 🟡 454 | 🔵 418 | 🔴 367
_______________________________
A great par 5, the wide fairway has a slight dogleg to the right but is dotted with numerous bunkers to catch you on the drive and approach shots. If all the bunkers can be avoided, it should be easy to reach the green in regulation. From here, par or better should be the goal on this hole.
PAR 4 | HDP 9
⚪️ 316 | 🟡 289 | 🔵 271 | 🔴 253
_______________________________
A short par 4 that looks very tight from the tee. A long iron or fairway wood should put you in a good position for a short or mid iron to the elevated green. But with the deep bunkers surrounding the green, it is imperative to find the center of the large green, or difficult up and downs will await.
PAR 3 | HDP 7
⚪️ 164 | 🟡 144 | 🔵 112 | 🔴 108
_______________________________
This par 3 is played over a ravine with a lot of forest, so if you don't reach the green, you should hope that the large front bunker has caught the ball; otherwise, you will need to play the third shot from the tee, as it is almost certain to be lost. If you can find the green and avoid the 7 bunkers surrounding it, you may still have a long putt as this green measures over 40 meters from front to back.
PAR 4 | HDP 17
⚪️ 334 | 🟡 307 | 🔵 283 | 🔴 257
_______________________________
A beautiful par 4, with views of the deep ravine running down the left side of the hole. The drive can be safely played to the right side, as the slope brings the ball back to the center of the fairway. The approach shot is more dangerous, with a long bunker protecting the left side of the green and the ravine running beyond the bunker and also behind the green, with no rewards for hitting long on this approach.
PAR 4 | HDP 5
⚪️ 316 | 🟡 284 | 🔵 257 | 🔴 238
_______________________________
A fairly short par 4 that has no less than ten bunkers in play, trying to catch you. One of them is the long, narrow bunker on the right side of the fairway that seems like a magnet for anything pushed slightly to the right. This is course designer Perry Dye at his best; although the length suggests an easy hole, a par here is a good score.
PAR 5 | HDP 1
⚪️ 513 | 🟡 479 | 🔵 432 | 🔴 404
_______________________________
One of the signature holes for sure, with stunning sea views from the tee. The drive is quite tight, but with the fairway running into a sort of valley from either side, the ball should roll to safety unless it is badly off line. The second shot will likely need to be a wood as the hole is over 550 yards and has hazards around the green. For the lay-up, aim to the right side of the fairway, and hopefully over the path, leaving no more than 130 meters to the green. The green is well protected by bunkers and also has a large lake on the left side, so even the shortest approach shots must be fully respected.
PAR 3 | HDP 11
⚪️ 188 | 🟡 161 | 🔵 132 | 🔴 110
_______________________________
Long par 3, with a huge bunker running all along the left side of the hole. Make sure to use enough club and stay on the right side, as getting up and down from the bunker will be a major challenge. An aesthetically pleasing hole, but one that can easily ruin a scorecard.
PAR 4 | HDP 3
⚪️ 372 | 🟡 359 | 🔵 326 | 🔴 110
_______________________________
An extremely tough par 4 that requires a long, straight drive to put you in a good enough position to reach the green in regulation. A good shot should leave a long iron or a hybrid to a tight green that has a lake right in front and to the left of the hole. Most high-handicap players are advised to treat this hole as a par 5. If you can score a par here, it is a great score.
PAR 4 | HDP 16
⚪️ 318 | 🟡 297 | 🔵 267 | 🔴 232
_______________________________
A nice, smooth start to the final nine holes. From this elevated tee, a mid to long iron should put you in a good position before the huge bunker that is positioned to catch anyone trying to reach the green in one. However, push anything to the right and there are out of bounds and a group of trees to prevent hitting the green in regulation. Avoid going straight off the tee and this hole shouldn't cause too many problems.
PAR 5 | HDP 2
⚪️ 515 | 🟡 481 | 🔵 439 | 🔴 410
_______________________________
A par 5 that is not plagued with hazards but must be respected for its great length. It is also narrow in some places, making it easy to get caught in the trees on both sides of the fairways. If you can keep the ball fairly straight and hit it far enough, this hole can be good for your Stableford score, especially since it has a stroke index of 2!
PAR 4 | HDP 18
⚪️ 279 | 🟡 252 | 🔵 215 | 🔴 193
_______________________________
A great risk and reward hole. For big hitters, the green is certainly within range from the elevated tee, but if the ball fades too much, the huge fairway bunker running 70 meters down the right side to the green will mean a very difficult second shot to reach the green. green. The best players will be looking for a birdie on this hole.
PAR 3 | HDP 14
⚪️ 160 | 🟡 137 | 🔵 113 | 🔴 93
_______________________________
A par 3 featuring Perry Dye's trademark fairway bunker, running all the way down the right side of the hole from tee to green. If you can avoid this bunker and the 2 small bunkers protecting the front left of the green, a routine par should result.
PAR 4 | HDP 4
⚪️ 403 | 🟡 367 | 🔵 335 | 🔴 325
_______________________________
A hole that will surely grab your attention. A long drive will leave a mid iron to a green that has a lake protecting the right side. If the tee shot is not long enough, it might be advisable to lay up with your second because the lake is very easy to find. A great-looking hole.
PAR 4 | HDP 8
⚪️ 377 | 🟡 358 | 🔵 334 | 🔴 324
_______________________________
A tough uphill par 4 that I found much more difficult than its stroke index of 8! A long, straight drive is required to be far enough down the fairway to see the green. Anything left or right of the fairway and you will surely be blocked. From here, the sensible among us will lay up and take their medicine. However, if a long, straight drive is achieved, there is still work to be done, as the second shot will still be long, and the undulating green will also require your full attention before you can breathe easy and move on to the next tee.
PAR 5 | HDP 10
⚪️ 433 | 🟡 405 | 🔵 367 | 🔴 367
_______________________________
A par 5 that is reachable in two for the big hitters, but still poses enough question marks to keep all your attention. If the drive is good and long, then going for it in two is definitely an option, otherwise, it's a good idea to lay up to the ideal wedge distance. The small bunker to the left of the green should be avoided, as it is extremely difficult to get up and down from. The green has numerous slopes and contours, so it's important to be on the right level. A decent chance for birdie on this hole.
PAR 3 | HDP 12
⚪️ 166 | 🟡 137 | 🔵 111 | 🔴 86
_______________________________
Depending on the wind direction, this par 3 can be anywhere from a nine iron to a driver. From an elevated tee, the green looks inviting, but you can get caught with bunkers on the right side and a tree dangerously leaning over the left side of the green. If the wind is strong and against you, good luck making par!
PAR 4 | HDP 6
⚪️ 387 | 🟡 332 | 🔵 296 | 🔴 263
_______________________________
A classic finishing hole. Taking the green in regulation is only an option if the drive is long, otherwise, the lake to the right of the green is definitely in play! However, there is a large bailout area to the left of the green, but this brings the water back into play on the third shot, as the green is undulating and fast, and it's easy to overshoot into the water. A fantastic matchplay hole that can bring tears of joy or despair in equal measure!
